Why looking for Bin

Over 9 years, the war of the Anti-terrorism still goes on…. Some say Bin dead, some say Bin alive, but why America insist to catch Bin?

Revenge for 9.11
“9.11” terrorist such a harmful shadow deep in American’s mind. Osama Bin Laden, have been define as the Leader who direct the 9.11 terrorist, therefore, deep inside American’s mind, the common sense that America could never safe unless Osama dead is developed. Under this “American psychology’, every American wants Bin die.

The real threat of the terror
During the interview of an Arabian newspaper, the Ex bodyguard of Mr Bin said that Osama has found and use a nuclear weapon. Early this year, America was claim that the Al-Qaeda still interest in the nuclear weapon, the nuke terror still in risk to the world. America President Barack Obama’s Anti-terrorism adviser said that Al-Qaeda has been looking for a nuke in past 15 years. Obama claim that the most threat for safety of the American and the world is not the nuke war between countries but the nuke terrorism and the diffuse of the nuke. Somehow, we can say that American can not sleep comfortably until they catch Osama.

The suitable reason for war
The 9.11 event not only change the position of the America strategy, but also change the political environment of the world. Bush was tried to destroy this two terror force in Islamic country through the war of Afghanistan and Iran, and so that to create a “democracy Middle Eastern”. Well, but the fact is the terror are growing more quickly as Bush try to against it, the terrorism already spread through the whole world. Right now, Osama keep being the target of the terrorism threat which could be the good excuse for America to holding any war of the Anti-terrorism in the world.

The tentacles of Al-Quaeda

The world's most infamous terrorist organisation is experiencing an exponential growth fuelled by the jihadist sentiment I discussed in my previous post.
This worrying trend is acquiring a whole new level of relevance in contemporary society as Al-Quaeda seeks to infiltrate foreign countries with its extremist ideology; it has recently been reported that some attempts have taken place on the social network Facebook. Not only friends request though: allegedly, informations such "operational and tactical information, including bomb recipes and weapons maintenance" are shared. Furthermore, it appears to be "a gateway to extremist forums; a media outlet for propaganda; and a source of remote reconnaissance for targeting purposes".
Media outlets such as forums have also been used to recently threaten France, both in relation to their presence in Afghanistan and their ban on burqa. Even though France firmly rejected any form of negotiation with Bin Laden and his organisation, let alone the possibility of National policies being "dictated by anyone outside", this issue does not fail in raising concerns about Al-Qaeda's threat.
The recent terrorist attack in Stockholm, albeit partially failing, provided fresh material to bolster the confidence of terrorist supporters, such as Abu Suleiman al-Ansari - a high-ranking Al-Qaeda and "world jihad" supporter- who directs this audio message to NATO's nations: "Your security measures will not be able to stop our attacks against you. Your only way to safety is withdrawing from Afghanistan". He follows on by celebrating the Stockholm attack as "the beginning of a new era for world jihad", threatening every country that has troops in Afghanistan with attacks from "people that crave death more than they desire life".
The problem becomes significant when considering that many of those attackers hold passports from countries beyond any suspect, such as the author of the Stockholm bombing that was an Iraqi-born Swedish citizen, who also successfully completed tertiary education in England.
Similar patterns took place even in Australia, where in February five men received sentences ranging from 23 to 28 years of jail on conspiracy charges for plotting a terrorist attack. More recently, a new addition into the Gold Coast bikie gangs scene is increasing the stakes in their aggressiveness and crimes. The Sons of Islam are beginning to raise serious concerns among the Police and the public, especially since portrays of Osama Bin Laden were discovered during a raid on one of their members' property; in addition, some of these members are allegedly former Iraqi soldiers familiar with weapons due to their paramilitary training.
Wether the tentacles of Al-Quaeda are infiltrating other countries or these recent events are just a few isolated cases blown out of proportion, only time will tell.

Why the US Army is actually fuelling the same jihad it fights

The last resource used to fight an enemy that proves to be tougher than expected, is actually playing against American interests. With names such as "Predator" or "Reaper", there is little left to imagination about the purpose of the US unmanned drones wreaking havoc among the desert plains of rural Pakistan, trying to eliminate the pockets of resistance led by resilient tribal warriors.
These high-tech weapons are remotely controlled from the US via a direct internet link: the soldiers flying them possess skills more concerned with computer-gaming rather than actual aircraft skills. Their window to that remote, war-torn part of the world is a high-res PC screen in a military base in Las Vegas. Could this contribute in desensitising the actual act of killing other human beings? Very likely. But in order to eliminate senior figures of Al-Quaeda and other key threats to US security, this seems to be the most convenient decision, also considered the lack of exposure and risk for American soldiers.
Nonetheless, when looking at the bigger picture a very concerning problem emerges: it is alleged that out of the most recent 60 strikes, 14 senior terrorist figures were killed along with 687 civilians. This ratio is simply unacceptable and it is not surprising that is generates several collateral effects, chief among which a strong jihadist sentiment. In fact, "families of drone's attacks victims are required under the tribal code to seek revenge", hence making them perfect recruits for jihadists. Pashtun commander Baitullah Mehsud claims that every drone attack brings him alone "3 or 4 suicide bombers". As David Kilcullen, a counterterrorism expert who played a key role in developing the surge strategy in Iraq sums up: "It's possible the political cost of these attacks exceeds the tactical gains" (2009, p.3). The undiscriminated slaughter of any other human being who's only fault is to be within a 50m radius from the designated American target is starting to take its toll and could possibly fuel an endless confrontation akin to Israel vs Palestine. Furthermore, this warfare tactic generates a widespread belief depicting Americans as cowards, further reinforcing the hatred already deeply entrenched among civilians and making it impossible to gain the respect of their enemies -which is the only thing that would ever cause them to surrender-

Everywhere you look

Sometimes, if you know where to look, you will find Osama bin Laden in the most unlikely places. Many people have been influenced by the terrorist mogul since he became a target of the United States Government and military. Police in the United Kingdom must have been surprised when they pulled a car over, only to find Osama bin Laden at the wheel. As it turns out, they had stopped the vehicle because the window cleaner in the driver's seat was wearing a bin Laden mask (the officers' eyes must have lit up when they imagined what they would receive for turning America's most wanted fugitive in). Further down the article on the Daily Record website it states that he put on the mask at a traffic light to make a group of teenagers laugh. It was unclear whether the driver got off with a warning for restricting his view of the road, or attempting to cause fear amongst the community by wearing the bearded mask.

On June 13, 2010, an American citizen, Gary Brooks Faulkner was arrested for attempting to hunt down bin Laden in the mountains of Pakistan. He was armed with a 40 inch sword, .30 caliber pistol, night vision scope, dagger and King James Bible. Faulkner is an out-of-work construction worker who sold tools to finance trips described as a Rambo-type mission to kill or capture bin Laden, the MSNBC website claims.

If one man from America is brave enough to seek out Osama bin Laden, perhaps the United States Government and military should use more of their resources to focus on the search for him (as opposed to regarding Iraq as their primary focus).

Those people who “knowing” Osama was saying how they close to Osama and making money as they provide “intelligence” to the Media. In 2002, there is more than thousand newspaper news about Osama’s whereabouts, it’s hard to image how many message, report and news about it in the internet. Obviously, Osama Bin Laden’s “expose rate” have been higher than any country’s leader in the world.

Bin Laden: Hero or Villian?

Osama bin Laden has been on the FBI's 'Ten Most Wanted Fugitives' list for the best part of a decade. He was initially added in June 1999 in connection with the August 7, 1998 bombings of U.S. Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Nairobi; however, the status of his arrest warrant was updated following the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Centers (regarding speculation that he was the mastermind). He is being hunted as a result of 'Murder Of U.S. Nationals Outside The United States, Conspiracy To Murder U.S. Nationals Outside The United States And Attack On A Federal Facility Resulting In Death'. There is a U.S. $25 million bounty on his head.

WikiLeaks has claimed that the United States Government have been complaining about the PR bin Laden has been receiving in Pakistan. "'Wanted' posters and matchboxes distributed in Pakistan were met by shops selling pro-Osama souvenir versions", an article by Declan Walsh on the The Guardian website stated. The poster below was distributed by the United States in August 1998.

The Taliban, "in sharp contrast with their ordinary execrable public relations performance", was doing better than the US, the message continued. We face a formidable foe among those churning out pro-Osama propaganda." These comments have prompted the government to reassess their approach on bin Laden based propaganda in the United States. Whilst the majority of Westerners see Osama as a threat, he is widely accepted as a hero amongst  militant groups in predominantly Islamic countries such as Afghanistan and Pakistan.FBI: Osama Wanted Poster

Osama in Iran? or Washington!

Osama hunting in Iran?!
News: Osama bin Laden “living in luxury in Iran” report by The Telegraph, saying that the most wanted man  in the world, Osama is living in a luxury residence in Iran, and hunting Falcons!
Falcon hunting is an exclusive hobby of richest man in the Middle East. The price of a bird could reach one million dollars. The documentary named ‘Feathered Cocaine’ shows that Osama have been living comfortable with his wife and children under protect.

Osama bin Laden is hiding in Washington~
Ahmadinejad told ABC News that Osama is hiding in Washington, during the interview.
“Yes, I did. He's there. Because he was a previous partner of Mr. Bush. They were colleagues in fact in the old days. You know that. They were in the oil business together. They worked together.”
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said.

What I think is none of this massages are truth as the American always try to find some excuse to create “invasion” such as Iraq and somehow American was being embarrassing that they can not find out a guy with such huge and high technology network, weapons over 9 years. Let’s look at the image Osama that post from FBI which uses internet photo of Spanish politican Gaspar Liamazares

What a shame! At the same time, it shows that the US Intelligence Agency may completely losing the traces of Osama…
Ahmadinejad was playing jokes to defense his country. However, as the location of Osama becomes a secret that everyone wants to know, the media and people would not pass up any chance to find out Osama. Can you image how embarrassing and horror for the US government if Osama is living in Washington~
Did Osama still alive or dead?
We keep searching…

Bin Laden reads blogs

It would be extremely reductive to define The Sheikh of Terror as a religious fanatic plotting the destruction of the US while holed up in a cave. In fact, a further analysis of his messages denotes the extent to which Bin Laden borrows from Western discussions about the Middle East and the war. He is tech-savvy, he is extremely well informed, and is no different to any other political leader in the way he promotes his political and religious agenda.
The way in which his modus operandi differs lies in the way his propaganda works. When considering Bin Laden's post-2001 agenda, two phases are distinguishable: immediately after the 9/11 attacks he was labelling himself as a "warrior for Palestine", and religious influences were the core of his discourses -which were self-sustained-. Later on though (from 2004 onwards), the main element of his ideology became heavy criticism towards George Bush and the US war campaign: hence, he acted like a parasite feeding itself from the "fear and loathing of his enemies" (O'Neill, 2006) and from their mistakes too. During that period, he gradually abandoned religious slurs and fatwas  in favour of citations of Michael Moore documentaries, US opinion polls against the war, humanitarian reports about Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib. Also, he is a big antagonist of Western media's biased coverage of the war, and spoke widely about scandals like Halliburton -the oil company owned by Dick Cheney who won contracts to supply fuel to the US Army-.
Not only his new style aimed to broaden his audience and attempt to connect with disillusioned US citizens, but also revealed the extent to which he keeps himself informed, scanning the news environment and, apparently, blogs. Yes, it is alleged that Bin Laden reads blogs (or at least the entourage briefing him) and especially likes some of the crankier left wing ones out there, of which he appears to be a regular follower. In fact, the content of his messages often coincided with the latest scandals/topics discussed by these 'dissident' Western sources, simplifying his task in two ways: sparing him a lengthy research and the construction of a solid argument, and also gaining some kind of support among enemies' ranks.
Nonetheless, another explanation for this peculiar change in style is brought up by German intelligence sources: could it be another addition to the endless collection of wacky conspiracy theories? Maybe. But apparently, Bin Laden died 9 years ago  in Tora Bora (Afghanistan) and all the following videos are "certainly fake" according to David Ray Griffin, a former theology professor. Hence, those videos portray an impersonator of former Al Qaeda's chief, and this explains the different communication strategy.

Discovery of the most wanted man on the planet

You may be wondering why we chose to do our blog on Osama bin Laden...well, browsing news sites for ideas, we came across an article about him on CNN. Accompanied by a video report by CNN's Senior International Correspondent Nic Robertson, the article reveals that they US Government had the opportunity to kill/capture bin Laden but failed to do so. Dr August Hanning (Germany's intelligence chief) claims that the Al-Qaeda leader was watching the bombings in Tora Bora from a nearby base.

With agents feeding the Dr Hanning Osama's movements, one would think that he should have been caught. This, however, was not the case, with the information being fed through days, weeks even months later. One thing that he can confirm for certain, is that Osama bin Laden is alive (and well) in Pakistan.

This topic is designed to create conversation...stay tuned for interviews with experts and other article and video analysis (including the documentary titled 'Where in the world is Osama bin Laden') as we follow his controversial broadcasts, what the media says about him, and his movements over the past 10 years.

Bin Laden, the world's most influential man on the run

After 10 years of being on the run, few public figures caused more debate and speculation than Osama Bin Laden. The man that caused a war costing the US around 700 billion $ a year, is apparently impossible to find. Vanished, disappeared. Despite that, he is very informed about the latest events happening in the world, and a regular feature in fatwa-like videos threatening terrorist acts on Western countries. The rumours about his whereabouts are countless. Ranging from somebody who saw him riding a motorcycle in Afghanistan, to people claiming he is living in Washington and is also a personal friend of George Bush. Fidel Castro believes he is an American spy. The latest, most insisting rumour depicts him as an ill man, undergoing dialysis therapy while living in a comfortable suburban house in Pakistan, protected by his close allies and by the same Pakistani intelligence agents who get 2 billion $ in help from the US. Annually. No matter what the truth is, Bin Laden is an extremely powerful and influential figure that generated an endless, costly and hopeless war as well as wacky conspiracy theories, features in a Family Guy episode, threats to the world via his feared Al-Qaeda network. This blog will cover some of the most interesting facts, updates and theories that were elaborated in the past 10 years, as well as trying to find out why nobody can find him and where the hell he is.
